Suspect At Large, Teen In Grave Condition After Shooting In Westchester, Police Say

A shooting that sent a teenager to the hospital in “grave condition” remains under investigation in Westchester, authorities announced.

Officers from the Yonkers Police Department responded to reports of a shooting at approximately 9:15 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 2 next to H. Boo Wilson Park on Tuckahoe Road that left a teenager with life-threatening injuries.

According to Yonkers Police, officers found a 17-year-old Bronx resident who suffered a single gunshot wound through his neck, who was transported to an area hospital.

Investigators said that the preliminary investigation found that the shooting may be related to an earlier dispute in the park between two groups of people.

“We know that earlier in the evening there were two groups involved in some sort of dispute, but exactly who and what that dispute was about, that is what we are looking at today,” a Yonkers Police Department spokesman stated.

it is believed that the gunman fired at least two shots in the direction of the victim before fleeing the area, police said.

No arrests have been made, nor has a suspect been identified.
